I thought he’d forever remain:
like the black ink on a ripped up newspaper,
the earthy smell of old books or a stamped
postcard found under all the letters,
the smell of coffee, so strong and raw
at least that’s what I had thought.
I should have known, that all good things
come to an end; newspapers, books,
postcards decompose and who would have known?
that overtime, I’d begin to hate the
sickly smell of coffee. Now that I’m here, I have a responsibility to no one but myself: to erase all our memories…

Note: Hello my loves, I hope you will find this piece interesting. π The beautiful painting is done by the awesome Nassima from Artoxygen, I would appreciate if you could check out her work! She is a lovely soul. In her own words this painting “carries within it’s brush strokes and multiple layers: Love and Sadness, Hurt and Happiness, Dear ones and Enemies…”
Well written and the painting is nice tooπβ€οΈ
(I wonder if someone can actually erase any of their memories…)

Thanks Ayush π that’s the whole point, you can’t erase memories; that’s why she struggles. Thank you for commenting β€

Maybe you should change the blend of coffee beans. And you’re gonna start loving coffee again. A beautiful writeup which amazingly gels with the art. Keep up the amazing work.

I really appreciate your support and love for my humble art Asfa, you are gifted and talented and as I told you before you are the Queen of Words at least to me βΊπ· you know what? When I read your beautiful inspiring words I get inspired and I imagine in my head a painting of it.. Is it the same to you Asfa when you see any other drawing or painting? Does it inspire you to create a magic world of words? βΊ
