Hopeful

It was hard for me to make her understand, every word I spoke – all went over her head. I felt hopeless. It wasn’t her fault. She was just trying to put her pieces together.

You could see it in her eyes – she was tired. Tired of waking up every day, feeling the same way. Nothing ever changed, no matter how much she tried. She would go out, keep herself busy, force herself to talk to people just so she could “forget”. Do you know how hard it is?

To show the world that you are “ok”, putting on a fake smile when all you want to do is cry. Having a conversation with someone when all you can think of is suicide. Anxiety so high, it takes over your life. Screaming for help but nobody can hear. Doing anything to block out this pain. Anything to feel numb.

Imagine being trapped in four walls. No windows, no doors. She lived that every day…

  2. Absolutely agree with you Asfa.
    This is very relatable.

I believe in fake it till you become it,
Fake a smile,be happy for a while, until this becomes a routine and you’re absolutely fine.

For you can never be dependent upon people to understand you or accept your real emotions. They can hardly deal their own feelings.
How can we expect them to understand yours?

Your words have such deep meanings, they truly touch the soul.
    Nice one Asfa!😍💞

  4. This powerfully written post describes the agony of the most intensely severe stage of depression very well.

That feeling that the most mystical of all Spanish saints St. John of the Cross described as “the dark night of the soul”.
