SHE

My love for her was pure, it was clean. In this world of selfish needs and no loyalties I found something strong, something that was destined only for me.

The way she could read my voice, how her hair would cover my face whilst she slept on my chest, her sweet voice, forever lost in her conversations. Her sparkly eyes, shy smile and warm laughter. I was going crazy. Not once did I ever think; that, I would be the guy with the most beautiful woman in the world, holding onto my hand, looking at me with dreamy eyes.

It wasn’t love at first sight, trust me and I knew this, right here – had nothing to do with lust either. I studied her, she became my best friend. I worked really hard to get this woman, but it was all worth it. Whenever I was with her; I felt something real, butterflies in my stomach. Her words were perfection, nothing ever wrong came out of her mouth. She held me down, like no other woman could have, ever. Plenty tried, but I was never into them. Nothing felt real with others.

I wanted to spend my whole life with her, she was my long-term goal. I wanted us to grow together, build a life together – ups and downs, happiness and sadness, love and anger; I wanted her to be with me through it all. The only person I would ever listen to and do anything for. Call me crazy, but it’s all true. From the feelings to spending a lifetime with her. Growing up around friends who were basically, how do I put this nicely? F*cked up. PARDON MY FRENCH! Every week they would bring different girls, “every hole is a goal” was the way they thought. Women were toys to them, and surprisingly the women who they played with, knew their intentions too. So everything was just fun and games for them. That’s what I grew up with, so you’d understand when I say “I didn’t ever think I was the type to settle down with one woman and not cheat.”

If I’m being honest, I thought I would get married from back home and “just chill” forever. No questions asked whenever I came home late, food was there, clean house and a quiet wife. No arguments, no stress. Girls from here are too clever and are always on their husbands/boyfriends cases and I didn’t want that. Not a chance, never. Like any other typical lad, I had previous relationships too; some ended on a good note, others on a bad. But I had never felt anything like this before, this woman gave me them feels. I wanted to change, be a better person; not for her but for US. So we could live a good life together, so I could provide her with anything she wanted.

After all that was the least I could do, she was there every time I needed a shoulder, from day one she had shown me her loyalty – the only person who could calm my storms. I knew this woman, was my soul mate.

The only question now was, “will it all be worth it in the end?” I was ready to gamble, I wanted it, it was a green light for me. I could just imagine it all now, seeing her beautiful face before I closed my eyes and after I opened them. Bliss. Feeling her presence whilst I slept, I knew I needed her. But did she want the same? Or was she looking for something else and someone better. Being in love, is so scary but beautiful at the same time. I shook my head; of course she wanted the same, why else would she be here.

And it was in that moment she looked at me and smiled, she cried, tears of happiness and that’s when I knew, she wanted the same. She wanted it all too.
